Post-doctoral position in "digital humanities" at the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme MSH Val de Loire (Tours and Orleans, France)
12 months, from October 2013 (conditional). Monthly stipend: 1900 euros net.
The Atelier Numerique of the MSH Val de Loire, launched in 2012, aims to combine technical support activities with high level research in the field of the digital humanities.
We are seeking a post-doctoral candidate with a background and a PhD in the social sciences or humanities combined with experience of data processing, for example of text and images, combined with knowledge of geographical systems, relational databases, or standard programming languages
The candidate should be able to initiate and foster cross-disciplinary reflections about the scope and practice of the digital humanities in collaboration with other members of the Atelier; to organize seminars and tutorials; to publish documents and reports about the Atelier's activities; to participate in national and international networks.
English is required (both spoken and written), and a good understanding of French would be appreciated. Any nationalities.
Location: Tours, with frequent travel to Orleans
