CONTRIBUTORS

After teaching for several years in West Africa, James Brown returned to Canada to gain his doctoral degree at the University of Alberta. He taught at McGill for two years and is now on the staff at the University of Western Ontario.

Brian Coleman is a member of the McGill Society of Victoria and Vancouver Island.

Rozanne Goldman received a B.A. in psychology and linguistics from McGill University. She completed a M.Sc. in reading at Syracuse University. At present she is Director of the Dawson College Learning Centre.

Victor Haines has taught English at Acadia University, College militaire royal de Saint Jean, and at present is at Dawson College. He has published in the field of second language teaching and has a Ph.D. from McGill University in English Literature.

JIUDe8 B. Hartman, who received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, has taught philosophy at several Canadian and U.S. universities. Recently, he has been engaged in research on higher education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

Donald Houston is now teaching English and History at LaSalle Compre-hensive High School and is an active member of the Quebec Council of Outdoor Educators.

A New Zealander by birth, Frances Slater gained her Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Iowa and now works at the London University Institute of Education. She gave a summer school course at McGill in 1975.

David C. Smith is Professor of Education in the Department of Education in the Social Sciences at McGill. He is a previous contributor to the McGill Tournai

of Education and also author of a well-known text on urban values.

Although an Englishman by birth and disposition, Jolm Wolforth has taught at high school and university levels in Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Quebec. He was also a visiting lecturer in geography for eighteen months at two Australian universities.
