International Student Research Paper Competition Social Work studies
REGULATION 1. General Provisions
1.1. The Regulation on International Student Research Paper Competition (hereinafter - ISRC) of Russian Federal Educational and Methodological Association "Sociology and Social Work" (hereinafter - FUMO) determines the organization of ISRC.
1.2. ISRC is held to identify and support the most talented and active students, to stimulate research and development of higher education on social work.
1.3. Duration of ISRC: from February 1 to April 30th. Deadline for papers:
April 20th. The results of ISRC are announced till April 30th.
1.4. Students studying Social Work (bachelor and master level) can take part in ISRPC.
1.5. Research topic 2020 – «Regional problems of social protection».
2. Organizing committee of ISRC
2.1. The overall management of ISRC is carried out by Organizing Committee.
2.2. The Chairman of Organizing Committee is the head of FUMO.
2.3. Members of Jury are annually invited from universities with social work programs. Jury also includes practical social workers.
2.4. Organizing Committee makes decisions on the dates, nominations of ISRC, as well as on awarding the winners and laureates of ISRC.
3. Participants and documents
3.1. Students' research projects, written individually or in collaboration with other students (no more than 2 co-authors) (hereinafter - participants), are accepted to ISRC.
3.2. Research works written in collaboration with the supervisor are not accepted for ISRC.
3.3. Each participant can submit no more than one project.
3.4. Documents should be provided to Organizing Committee in electronic form via email to [email protected]:
3.4.1. information about participants and supervisor;
3.4.2. text of research work;
3.4.3. copy of student ID or any document which certify that participant is a social work student.
3.5. Rules of text preparation are specified in paragraph 6.
4. Evaluation procedure
4.1. Research works are marked with individual codes (without personal data of participants) and transferred to Jury of ISRC. It is forbidden to open the names and other personal data of participants.
4.2. Experts of Jury evaluate research work according to a 50-point system.
Each research work should be evaluated by at least two experts independently of each other.
4.6. Participants of ISRC, whose works received the highest number of points and took the first three places, are recognized as Winners of ISRC.
4.7. In addition to winners, Laureates are determined, the number of which should not exceed ten percent of total number of research projects submitted to ISRC. Laureates are determined on the basis of the average rating put out by all experts.
4.8. Original text should be more than 70%. Verification of plagiarism is carried out via link which will be sent to participant.
5. Winners and Laureates
5.1. Winners and Laureates are awarded with diplomas.
5.2. Research works of Winners and Laureates will be published in international journal of Russian State Social University.
5.3. All participants receive diplomas and certificates.
6. Rules for text design
6.1. Research work is submitted in electronic form: Microsoft Word 97-2003 (* .doc), Microsoft Word 2007+ (* .docx) or Adobe Reader (* .pdf) via e-mail to [email protected] marked with «ISRC 2020 Surname Name».
6.2. Text should not indicate any personal data of participant and supervisor or identifying notes.
6.3. The volume of research work - no more than 10 thousand characters, including spaces. The research work is carried out in Times New Roman 14 point size in 1.5 intervals.
6.4. It is recommended to divide the text into chapters or stick to the logical structure of this when writing: introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion.
6.5. The graphic material can be black and white or color.
6.6. At the end of the research work, a bibliographic list should be provided.
