During the pastyear theUniversity of Alberta Archives has acquired the records of Mel Hurtig, author, publisher and political leader; J. Peter Meekison, former Vice President Academie, member of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal

Peoples; Assistant Deputy Minister for Intergovemmental Affairs under Peter Lougheed and constitutional advisor to other Alberta Govemments; the records of HistoryProfessor John Foster; the records of theAlberta LawReformInstitute;

and the records of TheatreNetworkand Nexus Theatre. The

Archives arranged and described the records ofJohn Charyk, Alberta educator and the records of the University’s

Photographie Services Department. Itwill be arranging and

describing the records of Senator Donald Cameron, former

Director of the BanffCentre, and therecords ofthe Presidents Wyman, Gunning, and Horowitz. In addition,the Archives

completed its “Guide to Native Sources at the University of Alberta Archives”. The Archives is pleased to announce the launch of itsWEB Site which includes a description of muchof

its holdings, an explanationoftheuse of theArchivesNetwork

of Alberta database which includes detailed descriptions ofthe

holdings in 13 Archives in Alberta, and Access to Other Canadian Archivai Resources on the Internet. Its address is http://www.ualberta.ca/archives/.
