RENAISSANCE SCHOLARS IN AMERIC A
The Renaissance Society of America, which its founders hope will bring together on a new principle all those scholars and pa-trons interested in the many aspects of Renaissance civilisation , was officially organized on January 30, at Columbia University , by representatives of leading American libraries, learned so-cieties, and universities, with membership at about one thousand . The Renaissance Society of America will unite the variou s fields of learning in order to study the Renaissance as a whole , thus rejoining art, history, literature, music, philosophy, reli-gion, science, and all the other subjects now usually investigate d separately . The new learned society will serve as the scholarl y and professional organization all those patrons and scholars inte-rested in the study of the Renaissance, as does the MEDIAEVA L ACADEMY those concerned with the study of mediaeval civili-sation, according to Professor John H . Randall, Jr ., of Colombi a University, who is the president of the new Society .
The Renaissance Society of America publishes a quarterl y journal RENAISSANCE NEWS .
