2019 CHA Elections | Élections 2019 de la SHC

In order to prepare a ballot for the election of candidates who will take office at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Canadian Historical Association, the Nominating Committee of the CHA wishes to draw your attention to the following procedure. Nominations of candidates for positions on the Council and on the Nominating Committee will be accepted in writing, by email or fax until December 31, 2018. Letters of nomination shall include the signatures of the nominator and a seconder, both of

whom must be members of the Association in good standing at the time the nomination is submitted. The Nominating

Commit-tee will assume the responsibility of ensuring that each person nominated agrees to appear on the ballot. The names of all duly

nominated candidates shall appear on the ballot prepared by the Nominating Committee and submitted to the membership. This ballot shall include not less than six candidates for the Council and four candidates for the Nominating Committee to fill the three positions on Council and the two positions on the Nomi-nating Committee. If fewer candidates than required have been nominated by December 31, 2018, the Nominating Committee shall nominate additional candidates. The elections results will be announced at our Annual Meeting at the University of British Columbia on 4 June 2019.

In addition, we are soliciting a nomination for Vice-President. The candidate’s name shall be added to the 2020 election ballot.
