(Abstract: pto) *. CNRS-IRISA. (5) Handling nuisance parameters : orthogonality and insensitivity Abstract: The handling of nuisance parameters is discussed with the objective of. fault isolation for diagnosis. First, the monitoring of the mean of a Gaussian vector is investigated based on dierent points of view : transformation, information, projection, rejection. The main concerns are preserving information or the block-diagonal structure of some matrices. Then some key concepts and methods for nuisance parameters elimination are briey overviewed, among which the notion of orthogonal parameters. Finally a property of insensitivity to the nuisance parameter, which generalizes that orthogonality to other estimating functions than the likelihood. Key-words: Fault diagnosis, nuisance parameters, orthogonal parameters, sensitivity, minmax, Fisher information, Godambe information..

In Section 2 we study the relations among the characteristic parameters of a given word and those of the words obtained by adding a letter on its right or on its left.. The main
Composite hypotheses, nuisance parameters and multiple hypotheses are dis- cussed, minimax, invariant, and most stringent tests are introduced, and some asymptotic approaches
The proposed two-dimensional finite element model of orthogonal cutting model is developed with Abaqus/explicit software and an Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) formulation
In Chapter 4, we use the REML approach to address the bias in variance parameter estimators and inaccurate confidence intervals for regression parameters because of a large number
